Take one part painting class, add a splash of bar and a great time will be had by all.

The Rocktide Inn is excited to bring the Paint Bar scene to Boothbay Harbor. Paint Bars are the newest trend in social circles across the United States, Canada and Europe. Not familiar with this new craze?

Paint & Pour will include an art lesson from a local Boothbay artist, a complimentary glass of wine, beer or a cocktail, and your very own masterpiece to take home. No experience is necessary, so anyone can enjoy this creative twist on art. Advance reservations are required and space is limited to 10 people per session.

This weekly event will begin on Thursday, June 26 from 2 to 4 p.m. Tickets are $25 per person.

The Rocktide’s version will also feature the breathtaking harbor view for added inspiration and a fabulous new menu of food and drinks available for purchase from the Tiki Bar.

Each week will feature a local artist to offer a tutorial of “step-by-step” strokes.

The featured artist for the Paint & Pour debut will be Selina Reid. She is a member of the Boothbay Region Art Foundation, has been featured at countless art shows, and has garnered many honors, including several “Best in Show” awards.

Reid was born in Boothbay Harbor. From an early age, art played a major role in her life. Much of her inspiration came from her childhood days spending time on a small island, wandering through woodland paths, and playing on the rocks and in tidal pools. It was there she learned the beauty that could be found in woodlands when you see lady slippers, or a simple seashell or stone worn by the tides. Starting in April of 1996, Reid began showcasing her art throughout the state of Maine.

In addition to owning and operating her own gallery, Reid has taught art classes in several public and private venues, including workshops on Monhegan Island. Reid's artwork can currently be seen at Capers Deli in Boothbay Harbor.

Paint & Pour: “On the Rocks" sessions are every Thursday from 2 to 4 p.m. You can also host your own private Paint & Pour Party any day and time, with advance notice and availability. Remember: this event is limited to 10 people per event.
