Artist demonstration for Damariscotta/Newcastle Art Walk: Creating an illustrated journal
As part of the Damariscotta/Newcastle Art Walk festivities on Friday, June 20, River Arts at 241 Route 1, is inviting the public to a free artist demonstration from 4 to 5 p.m. Hannah Ineson, Damariscotta artist and instructor at River Arts, will demonstrate tools and techniques for creating an illustrated journal.
Ineson will be showing pages from her journals, and demonstrating how to create an illustrated journal and will demonstrate various tools that can be used such as pens, watercolor, watercolor pencils and watercolor markers. Various combinations of text and images, as well as lettering, maps and borders, will also be demonstrated. She will answer questions about getting started, and how to create a theme for a journal. Ineson will show how this is a project that can be done by anyone, regardless of their level of skill or previous experience and how even total beginners can create a keepsake journal.
Ineson will be teaching "A Different Kind of Watercolor Workshop: Illustrated Journaling" three times over the summer in June, July and August. For more information about River Arts and its summer class offering call 207-563-1507, stop in, or visit www.riverartsme.org.
