Beth Preston returns to the Tapestry Singers
Tapestry Singers is delighted to announce the return of Beth Preston as Music Director. Beth conducted Tapestry for eight years, prior to the tenure of Harold "Sandy" Falconer who retired this year after conducting Tapestry's Palm Sunday performance of Mozart's Requiem in D and Bach's Cantata 106 at the Lincoln Theater.
Preston returns to Tapestry full of enthusiasm and creative plans and ideas.
“I want to invite all past Tapestry Singers to reconnect and also to encourage other members of the community, including Lincoln Academy alums in the area, to dust off their pipes and join in,” Presont said.
Tapestry, a non-profit, community group based in Newcastle, is open to singers of all ages and musical experiences.
“Whether you are a soprano, alto, tenor or bass, amateur or professional, high school student or retiree, if you love learning and performing choral music, I’d like to talk to you about Tapestry,” Preston said.
She can be reached at bethpreston1955@gmail.com or 207-607-9269.
Rehearsals for the December concerts begin on Monday, September 8 at 6:30 p.m. in Studio B on the Lincoln Academy campus.
The concerts, which will take place on December 20 and 21, are titled “Nowell, Nowell,” excerpts from Ralph Vaughan Williams' holiday masterpieces, “Hodie and The First Nowell.”
