Melissa Sue Tilas of Wiscasset and Sumner Ames Averill of Alna were married Sept. 6, 2014 at the Damariscotta Lake Farm in Jefferson.

A reception followed on location with family and friends traveling from all over the country.

The bride is the daughter of Nicholas and Lucinda Tilas of Wiscasset.

The groom is the son of Wayne and Peggy Averill of Alna.

The bride's attendees were sisters Kate Tilas and Nichole Minor, sister-in-law Audrey Blagdon, best friends Marissa Hammond and Kendra Kalis.

The groom's attendees were brothers-in-law Josh Blagdon and Chris Tilas, best friends Mich DeCosta and Jason Dennison, and cousin Ryan Cromwell.

The bride graduated from Capilo Institute in Augusta for hair and cosmetology and currently is employed at Possibility Salon.

The groom continues applying his business abilities in his employment at Ames True Value.

The couple will reside in their new home in Alna.
