Christina Eckerson solo show at River Arts West
River Arts West will feature a solo exhibition of Christina Eckerson’s most recent works in oil, Thursday, Oct. 9 through Oct. 22 in the West Gallery.
Meet Eckerson, a realist landscape artist, at an opening reception Friday, Oct. 10 from 5-7 p.m.
Raised in Camden, she has a deep appreciation for the beauty of Maine and considers the state her “muse, inspiration and first love.”
The coastal landscape, vast open skies, and the ever changing sea have provided infinite subjects for her canvases.
Drawn to the motion, depth, and mercurial nature of the sea, the element of water is often the subject of her work. Eckerson seeks to capture the color, the light, the atmosphere of our landscape and to provoke an emotional response in the viewer. Her paintings reflect her translation of the natural world in her own voice, creating an expression with a universal message.
As a professional painter of 15 years, Eckerson has been the recipient of many awards. She has had several solo shows in Massachusetts, and is a juried artist member of the Cape Cod Art Association.
Eckerson’s work is also available at Rockland Antiques Marketplace in Rockland and the Waterhouse Gallery in Hingham, Massachusetts.
River Arts is located at 241 US Route 1, Damariscotta. For more information on the artist, visit www.christinaeckerson.com.
