Sheriff's report
Sheriff Todd Brackett reports the following:
On October 2, Sgt. Jason Nein was dispatched to a burglary/theft to a foreclosed property in the Whitefield area. The complainants stated that a monitor heater (value: $1,500) had been stolen from a bank owned property. Further investigation to follow.
On October 4, Deputy Brian Collamore was dispatched to a reported theft in the town of Dresden. The complainant stated that within the last two days, someone(s) had crawled under a GMC truck he had for sale and sawed off the catalytic converter (value: $100). Further investigation if any new leads develop.
On October 6, Deputy Kevin Dennison was dispatched to a complaint of a burglary to a seasonal residence in the Westport Island area. The complainant stated that someone(s) had entered their cottage and numerous items were stolen. The complainant was last at the cottage was on Memorial Day. Further investigation if any leads develop.
Recent Summons
On October 4, George A. Little, 35, of Edgecomb was issued a summons for Motor Vehicle Speeding: 30-plus MPH over speed limit, on Boothbay Road, Edgecomb, by Sgt. Jason Nein.
Recent Arrests
On October 3, Nicholas J. Wallace, 24, of Boothbay was arrested for violating condition of release and refusing to submit to arrest or detention, on Dover Road, Boothbay, by Deputy Scott Hayden, who was assisted by Boothbay Harbor Reserve Officer Nick Upham.
On October 6, Jeremy T. Griffin, 21, of Newcastle was arrested for criminal mischief and threatening display of weapon, on Hall Street, Newcastle, by Deputy Kevin Dennison, who was assisted by Damariscotta Officer Aaron Beck.
Recent Traffic Accidents
On October 3, an accident occurred on Route 1 in Edgecomb involving George A. Little, 35, of Edgecomb. Mr. Little was operating his 2001 Honda Accord northbound in the breakdown lane, slowing tomake a right turn onto Davis Island Drive, when he began to skid and struck a curb and utility pole support wire. Sgt. Jason Nein was the investigating officer.
On October 3, an accident occurred on Route 27 in Edgecomb involving Travis R. Emerson, 38, of Thomaston and Kevin Thompson, 53, of Fairpoint, N.Y. Emerson was operating his 1988 GMC 3500 tow truck northbound on Route 27 with a vehicle in tow. Thompson was operating his 2006 Acura MDX southbound when the vehicle being towed by Emerson’s tow truck lost a wheel. The wheel crossed into the southbound lane and struck Thompson’s vehicle. Sgt. Brendan Kane was the investigating officer.
On October 5, an accident occurred on Washington Road in Jefferson involving Sheridan T. Bond, 58, of Jefferson. Bond was operating his 2002 GMC 2500 westbound when two deer ran out in front of his vehicle. He struck one deer, which then ran off and his vehicle sustained front end damage. Deputy Scott Hayden was the investigating officer.
