Anyone up for a scary story?
Damariscotta's Maine Coast Book Shop is looking for ghosts.
Well, ghost stories at least.
The book store will host its first Ghost Night, where participants are encouraged to not only sit and listen as author Greg Latimer (“Haunted Damariscotta”) and author and horror illustrator Glenn Chadbourne retell spooky stories, but are encouraged to join in themselves.
A spotlight will be placed on a chair in the darkened store and participants will be able to share their spooky stories and ghost tales. Maine Coast's Lauri Campbell said in an email that the event is aimed at an older crowd due to what's expected to be scary content. There will also be wine and cheese served.
The event begins at 8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 30 at the book shop, which is located at 158 Main Street. It is expected to go until 10 p.m.
“(It) should be fun — we will darken the bookstore at 8 p.m., spotlight a chair and have all who want to tell their story,” Campbell wrote.
For more information about the event, call the book shop at 207-563-3207, email campbell@midcoast.com or visit the Maine Coast Book Shop's website.
