Old Post Office Gallery's nine day show
The five local artists of the Old Post Office Gallery in Georgetown, which including Denise Rankin of Newcastle, invite the community to their second annual holiday show at the Georgetown Historical Society, featuring paintings and fine crafts perfect for holiday giving.
The show runs for nine days only, on Nov. 5, 8, 12, 15, 19, 22 and 29; Dec. 3 and 6. Wednesday dates the hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturday dates are from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Light refreshments will be served at all of the above dates.
Participating artists are Barbara Bean, Cory Hart, Letty Husson, Léa Peterson and Rankin. Their subject matter includes Maine landmarks and cottages, seascapes, waterfowl (including puffins), lobster boats, the forest floor, wildflowers and mushrooms, and still life works ranging from penny candy to typewriter keys.
Original paintings, assemblages, prints of favorite local scenes, cards, handcrafted jewelry, whimsical plaster and wire chickens, and Shaker oval boxes and trays will also be available.
The Georgetown Historical Society (GHS) is located at 20 Bay Point Road in Georgetown. Directions: from Route 1 in Bath, take the Georgetown exit/Route 127 South toward Reid State Park. After passing the Georgetown Fire Station on the right, turn right onto Bay Point Road. The GHS is on the left just after that turn.
