‘In the Morrow’

As the sun fades to black
So does the summer fade from green to fall
As the time marches to its temporal tune
Watch the bright colors
As they try to shout over their neighboring trees
Then turn to brown and drop
They spar over who once found the most color
As finches rush to seek shelter in the bushes that still
Maintain their cloaks.
Wherever there are leaves to shield them they bounce vibrantly
They move playfully day into night
Then as the laughter of lovers blends with the sunset
The summer ends
As the night falls
Only to repeat the cycle
In the morrow.
