“The Hunger Games: Mockingjay, part 1,” which finds Katniss Everdeen (Jennifer Lawrence) in District 13 after she literally shatters the games forever. Under the leadership of President Coin (Julianne Moore) and the advice of her trusted friends, Katniss spreads her wings as she fights to save Peeta (Josh Hutcherson) and a nation moved by her courage. “The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies”: By special arrangement with Warner Brothers Studios, this film will be presented a day before its official opening date on Tuesday, Dec. 16 at 7 p.m.
This is the epic conclusion to the adventures of Bilbo Baggins, Thorin Oakenshield and the company of Dwarves.
Having reclaimed their homeland from the Dragon Smaug, the company unwittingly unleashed a deadly force into the world. Enraged, Smaug rains his fiery wrath down upon the men, women and children of Lake-town. The Wizard Gandalf learns that the great enemy Sauron has sent legions of Orcs in a stealth attack upon the Lonely Mountain.
As darkness converges on their escalating conflict, the races of Dwarves, Elves and Men must decide — unite or be destroyed. Bilbo finds himself fighting for his life, and the lives of his friends, as the future of Middle-earth hangs in the balance.
This third and final installment in the Hobbit trilogy, directed by Peter Jackson features an all-star cast including Ian McKellen, Richard Armitage, Cate Blanchett, Christopher Lee and Orlando Bloom. Show dates: Dec. 16 through Saturday, Dec. 20 at 7 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 21 at 2 and 7 p.m.

“Birdman or The Unexpected Virtue Of Ignorance,” is a black comedy that tells the story of an actor (Michael Keaton) — famous for portraying an iconic superhero — as he struggles to mount a Broadway play.

“Rosewater” is based on a true story about an Iranian-Canadian journalist Maziar Bahari who gets detained by Iranian forces and brutally interrogated in prison for 118 days. An interview and sketch that Maziar did with a journalist on “The Daily Show” was used as evidence that Maziar was a spy. Directed by Jon Stewart. The Met Live in HD: Wagner’s Die Meistersinger Von Nurnberg. James Levine returns to one of his signature Wagner works conducting this epic comedy about a group of Renaissance "master singers” whose song contest unites a city. Saturday, Dec. 13 at noon (6 hour show).
