An open mic and community sing-along will be held on New Year's Day (Jan. 1), from noon to 3 p.m. at Savory Maine.

Musician Sylvia Tavares is organizing this free event. Last year, just shy of a dozen musicians played to a full house! How many will 2015 bring? Musicians interested in playing should call or email Savory Maine at 207-563-2111 or info@savorymainedining.com. If you have a copy of "Rise Up Singing" please bring it along.

Coffee, tea, hot chocolate, punch and cookies will be provided on the house. Feel free to bring a snack to share.

Soup and chowder, wine and beer will be available to purchase.

Savory Maine is located at 11 Water Street in Damariscotta and is open from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. for lunch and dinner. It is closed on Tuesday and Wednesday.

The restaurant sources over 90 percent of its food from Maine and essentially all of it is organically grown or wild harvested.
