Fred
Tuxedo cat
Sleeps sleeps sleeps
Once younger than I now
Older.
Fred
Tuxedo cat
3 a.m. pulls chain above bed
Light turns on I let him
Out.
Fred
Tuxedo cat
When younger waited at end of road
Chased my car home he always
Won.
Fred
Tuxedo cat
20 years old his wrinkled skin
Like a sock without
A foot.
Fred
Tuxedo cat
Crawls onto my lap his head
Nudges my hand ends our
Cinquain.
