‘Black, White & Tones of Grey’ exhibition
River Arts in Damariscotta seeks artists to submit work for its upcoming “Black, White & Tones of Grey” exhibition by Saturday, Jan. 17 at 4 p.m. The opening reception is scheduled for Friday, Jan. 23 from 5 to 7 p.m. The exhibition will hang until Feb. 19.
Submissions in any media, including sculpture and fine crafts, are sought, however, works should not include any notes of saturated or neutral color tones.
Artists can enter up to 3 works — $15 per entry for members and $20 per entry for non-members. Wall-hung work size maximum: 60 inches in height, 42 inches in width. For safety reasons, plexiglass or other non-glass option, should be used for work over 34 inches, excluding pastels. All work entered must be for sale.
Tina Ingraham is the juror for the show. Ingraham has a broad history in a variety of teaching experiences, done independently and within educational institutions including Bowdoin and Brooklyn colleges and Maine College of Art.
She is currently writing a text on teaching painting, developed from her approach to teaching color theory directly on the palette, and inspired by her study of master paintings relevant to her work.
