‘Big and Bold’ at the Damariscotta River Grill
Bright, bold statements of color enliven the walls of the restaurant as part of The Art at The Damariscotta River Grill series. The exhibit, opening Tuesday, Jan. 27, is the culmination of “The Big and Bold Workshops,” taught by instructors Joy Vaughan and Katharina Keoughan.
Vaughn and Keoughan promised students big tubs of paint, big brushes, big sheets of paper, great space, instruction, encouragement and support. Those promises led to creative energy, camaraderie and wonderful abstract paintings.
The paintings began with paint and brush marks and evolved into powerful compositions. The artists in the show range from the beginner to the experienced painter, and include: Francina, Peter Felsenthal, Judy Conlan, Debra Arter, Molly Delaney, Bruce Bachelder, Jennifer Litchfield, Peesh McClanahan, Jay Zoller and Lori Rizzuto.
An opening reception will be held Wednesday, Jan. 28, from 4-6 p.m. featuring delicious appetizers by Chef Rick Hirsch.
All artwork is for sale and will be exhibited through March 10.
Damariscotta River Grill is located at 155 Main Street in Damariscotta. For more on the show, contact Kim Traina at jumpstartcreative@gmail.com or call the Grill at 207-563-2992.
