Wiscasset Feed Our Scholars March events
Feeling like cabin fever has set in, and you’d like to get out and get moving?
Susan Gallagher, certified yoga instructor, is again offering a yoga event on Saturday, March 14, at St. Philip’s Church, 12 Hodge St., Wiscasset. The charge for each session is by donation to Wiscasset Feed Our Scholars Backpack Program, which applies funds raised to purchasing weekend bags of food from Good Shepherd Food Bank for children attending Wiscasset schools.
Actually, there will be two sessions offered: the first hour’s class at 9:30 a.m., geared for more advanced practitioners of yoga; the second hour-long session, beginning at 10:45 a.m., geared for beginners, but both open to any and all who want to attend. While there will be some mats and other equipment available to borrow, people are encouraged to bring their own.
Once exercised, think about putting the third annual spaghetti supper/auction event on your calendar. On Saturday, March 28, beginning at 5 p.m., this major FOS fundraiser will also be held at St. Philip’s Church Lippiat Hall, 12 Hodge St. in Wiscasset. Homemade sauces with and without vegetables, meatballs, breads, salads, desserts, and beverage are the bill of faire. Donated items and certificates from local businesses and individuals will be available to the highest bidder.
Both events fund balanced nutrition for local children experiencing food insecurity. For questions, or to make reservations, contact St. Philip’s at 207-882-7184. Leave a message with a return number.
