Solar Electricity 101 workshop at CLC Adult Ed March 31
It has been a long, cold winter and our heating bills reflect that fact. A great way to reduce cost is the use of solar electricity. Central Lincoln County Adult Education is offering a one night workshop Solar Electricity 101 on Tuesday, March 31 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Great Salt Bay School in Damariscotta.
This workshop will cover the basics of how Maine Grid Tied solar systems use the sun and CMP’s power grid to lower electric bills and lower heating/cooling costs. It will also cover key decisions in siting and selecting systems and options for using the electricity generated. Topics will include costs, sizing, controls, and what to look for in an installer. There will be opportunity for individual questions and answers.
Instructor Chris Toy is an environmental studies graduate of Bowdoin College, Maine teacher, school principal, cooking instructor, renewable energy enthusiast, and owner of a 28 Panel 6KW solar array in Bath. He is also manager of social media for Maine Solar Solutions, a solar energy company.
Co-instructor Sam Zuckerman is the owner of Maine Solar Solutions. He designs and installs solar energy systems for homes and small businesses with an emphasis on helping customers achieve greater control over their energy futures.
The cost of the course is $19 if you register by March 24 and $24 for all other registrations. So register today and save!
