April's Second Sunday: Astrological chart mandalas
The Harlow Gallery’s Education Committee hosts Seconds Sundays, a monthly series of free community art-making events sponsored by The Bank of Maine. April’s Second Sunday is on April 12 from 2 to 4 p.m.
Laura Hamilton, Yoga Teacher/Astrologer and Rose Swan Constellation Consultant will create an image of a personalized mandala, which can be made simply with pen or pencil and paper or using paints, collage or mixed media.
Hamilton uses each individual's birth wheel as a jumping of point for images with which she creates these highly personalized sacred circles. The mandala can be used as a meditation tool to bring integration into consciousness. It will be helpful if you have your date of birth, place and time, but not essential. Feel free to bring your own art supplies or use what is available at the Harlow Gallery
Mark your calendars and look forward to activities on the second Sunday of every month at the Harlow. These events bring artists and art lovers together to enjoy the process of making art as well as looking at art and discussing it.
All are welcome. Children under 10 must be accompanied by a caregiver.
These second Sunday sessions are free and open to the public. Donations to support gallery programs, like Second Sundays, are always welcomed.
Some materials are provided, but participants are encouraged to bring their own as well. Let’s get creative!
