Sheriff's report
Sheriff Todd Brackett reports the following:
On October 24, Sgt. Jason Nein took a report of a theft of a set of diamond wedding/engagement rings (value: $3,360) and roll of assorted coins (approximately value: $200) in the Boothbay area. This case was referred to the CID division for further investigation.
On October 24, Deputy Brian Collamore was dispatched to a possible misuse of identification complaint in the East Boothbay area. This case was forwarded to the CID division.
On October 28, Reserve Deputy Mark Walsh was dispatched to a report of a theft of K-1 fuel from a residence in the Edgecomb area. The complainant stated sometime Friday, Oct. 25, after 6 p.m., someone(s) stole approximately 200 gallons for K-1 fuel from a residence they were renting. Further investigation to follow if leads develop.

Recent arrests
On October 24, a 17-year-old male juvenile from the Boothbay area was arrested for Domestic Violence Assault, by Deputy Brian Collamore, who was assisted by Sgt. Jason Nein, and was transported to Long Creek Juvenile Detention.
On October 25, Paul E. Eirman, 66, of Dresden was arrested for Domestic Violence Assault, on River Road, Dresden, by Deputy Brian Collamore, who was assisted by Sgt. Jason Nein.
On October 27, Lorna G. Lothrop, 31, of Newcastle was arrested on a warrant for Failure to Appear, on Hopkins Hill Road, Newcastle, by Deputy Justin Drake.
Recent accidents
On October 24, an accident occurred on Gardiner Road in Dresden involving Nicole Fowler, 25, of Edgecomb. Ms. Fowler was operating her 2004 Pontiac Grand Prix westbound and due to unknown reasons, she crossed the eastbound travel lane, went off the roadway and struck a CMP utility pole. Deputy Brian Collamore was the investigating officer.
On October 24, an accident occurred on Pension Ridge Road in Boothbay involving Austin J. Crocker, 17, of Edgecomb and Marta E. Gaughan, 44, of Boothbay. Crocker was stopped in his 1998 GMC Sonoma at the Pension Ridge/River Road intersection. Gaughan was operating her 1998 Subaru Forester northbound on River Road. Crocker failed to see Gaughan approaching and began a left turn onto River Road. Crocker attempted to avoid contact by steering left, however, both vehicles collided in the roadway. Crocker pulled onto the shoulder of the road and parked, but Gaughan’s vehicle traveled forward, crossed the roadway, entered a private driveway and struck a large rock before coming to rest. Sgt. Jason Nein was the investigating officer.
On October 27, an accident occurred on Boothbay Road in Edgecomb involving Ursula M. Schumann, 46, of Wiscasset. Ms. Schumann was operating her 1997 Honda Civic northbound when she swerved to avoid a squirrel that had entered the roadway. As a result, she lost control of her vehicle, crossed the center line and continued off the roadway before striking several trees. Deputy Justin Drake was the investigating officer.
