'Two Old Cops' at Skidompha Chats with Champions May 5
Known as “The Two Old Cops,” John Ford Sr. and Mark Nickerson will be telling stories about their days in law enforcement at the next Chats with Champions. The event will be held on Tuesday, May 5 at 10 a.m. in Skidompha Public Library's Porter Meeting Hall.
Ford Sr., a native Mainer, comes from a long line of Maine game wardens. He spent all of his 20-year warden career in Waldo County. After retiring in 1990, he was elected county sheriff and reelected in 1994. He has written two books,“Suddenly The Cider Didn’t Taste So Good”and “This Cider Still Tastes Funny.” A third book will be published later this year.
Nickerson originally studied to be a dentist, but ultimately followed in the footsteps of his father and joined the Maine State Police in 1977. His book, “Blue Lights in the Night” has received high praise.
Ford and Nickerson have regaled their audiences all over New England with their hilarious stories of law enforcement “back in the day,” based on true stories from their best-selling books.
