Homeowner extinguishes Whitefield deck fire

The owner of a home at 450 Townhouse Road in Whitefield extinguished a fire on the home’s deck on May 6, Lincoln County Sheriff’s Lt. Rand Maker said on May 8. The fire started on a grill and caused about $200 damage to the wooden deck, Whitefield Deputy Fire Chief Tom Feeney told reporters at the scene.
No one was hurt, Feeney said.
The home is owned by the Waller family, Feeney said. The grill was in operation when the fire occurred, he said. The fire was reported shortly before 7 p.m.
Alna, Jefferson, Somerville and Windsor fire departments were called out to provide mutual aid were later cancelled, Feeney said.
