'Clay' time at summer reading program
Everyone at the Wiscasset Public Library’s Summer Reading Program enjoyed a visit from the Watershed Mudmobile and had a great opportunity to learn clay techniques and build hero themed book ends. The children learned how to score the clay to attach two pieces and also use household items to create texture and patterns. After the program, the Watershed brought all of the pieces of artwork with them to fire in their kiln and will be returning the finished products to the library in one to two weeks.
Our Summer Reading Program finale is Friday, Aug. 7 at 1 p.m. where the winners will be announced, everyone who completed their reading sheets will receive a certificate and enjoy a pizza lunch outside in the backyard.
The library is located at 21 High Street, Wiscasset and phone number is 207-882-7161.
