Halloween at story hour
Many children came to the Wiscasset Public Library in costume for a few Halloween stories and a “ghostly themed” craft. We enjoyed "Five Little Pumpkins" by Dan Yaccarino, "Halloween Monster" by Catherine Stock and "Halloween" by Harry Behn. We also passed out Halloween joke books and tricked each other with clever questions like “Where does Dracula like to eat lunch? In the casketeria!”
Next, for the activity, we took white circles cut from a bed sheet and covered tootsie pops to look like ghosts. They were decorated with scary faces and put in a hand crafted wooden stand for display on Halloween. Everyone is very excited for more celebrating this weekend with costumes, local parades and treats!
Story hour is every Thursday at 10:30 a.m. at the Wiscasset Public Library Children’s room. All good listeners are welcome to enjoy a few good stories and an activity to follow.
