Noah Jones wins DAR Award
Noah Jones, son of Chris and Tina Jones of Wiscasset, has been named DAR representative for the Wiscasset Middle High School Class of 2016.
Noah is well respected by his class and the faculty for his leadership, friendliness, and positive attitude. He is an active member of the school community volunteering his time to help with task such as Class Night and setting up for graduation. Noah is a member of the cross-country team receiving the sportsmanship award in 2015, he plays the clarinet in the school band, and he is the senior class vice president. He has been the recipient of the Spanish Award, the Physics Award, the Algebra I Award, and the World Cultures Award. Noah received the St. Michael’s College Book Award his junior year.
The Pemaquid Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution sponsors Noah for this honor. The selection process requires a faculty vote. Three seniors who best exemplify outstanding qualities of leadership, dependability, service, and patriotism in school, home, and community are chosen. This year’s faculty vote resulted in a rare tie and four senior names were passed along for the class vote. The senior class then selected one of the four to represent the school. This is not a scholastic award, rather, it is an award presented for outstanding character and achievement, and the selection is based on the same.
