What’s coming up at Adult Ed?
Mid-March features classes where you can learn more about using your digital camera, increase your skills working with Excel, and learn to tie your own flies. Just a reminder to register several days in advance of the class you want to take. Classes with low enrollment are canceled two days prior to their start.
If you want to gain a better understanding of your camera’s features you'll want to take Get to Know Your Digital Camera on March 15 and 17 from 6 to 8 p.m. Leisha will discuss the basics, automatic settings, exposure modes, flash, and how to customize settings Bring your digital camera (w/ fresh batteries) and manual to this hands-on class. The fee is $28.
Many anglers find it enjoyable to spend winter months tying their own flies. Learn to Tie Your Own Flies is a four-session workshop that will teach you how to tie wet flies, dry flies, nymphs, and streamers. The essential procedures for tying flies will be demonstrated. You can purchase a basic fly tying kit, at many retail sporting goods stores, by mail order or online, or just come and watch. The class meets on Tuesday and Thursday, March 15-24 from 6 to 8 p.m. The fee is $40.
In Advanced Excel on March 15, 16 and 17 you'll learn to build more complex spreadsheets and use advanced formulas. You'll work with functions calculate dates, times, pivot tables, and create charts and learn shortcuts. An essential class if you use Excel in the workplace or job hunting. Prerequisite: Experience w/ Excel/Basic Excel class. The time is 6-8 p.m. and the fee is $38.
In Tablets and Smart Phones you'll learn the basic settings of the device,. such as email, and how to customize your tablet and keep it up to date. Bring your Android tablet or smart phone to class. The class meets on March 7 and 9 from 6 to 8 p.m. and the fee is $28.
