Seasonal food prep series at FARMS Kitchen
Looking for new ways to incorporate superfoods into your diet? Join Chef Tanja Kunz for Seasonal Food Preparation and learn a variety of nutritious and delicious recipes. Classes will be held at the FARMS (Focus on Agriculture in Rural Maine Schools) Community Kitchen in Damariscotta on the third Tuesday of the month from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Kunz is a chef educator, with experience in healthy eating education and holistic community building. She is excited to work with FARMS and bring her experience to the Midcoast.
Classes are offered on a sliding scale basis of $10-$20. per class or $35-$75 for the series of four.
May 17 - Spring Greening. You know they're good for you, so let's tackle dark leafy greens and turn them into some fun and delicious dishes. We'll prepare these nutritional super foods into a few tasty items your family and friends will love.
June 21 - Raw Desserts. Need we say more? Using whole food ingredients, we will prepare a variety of desserts that will delight your sweet tooth without refined sugars or processed ingredients.
July 19 - Sweet and Spicy. Summer is upon us, and that means the fruits of the season are ripe and the sun is sizzling. Join us to prepare a few dishes that spicy-up the gorgeous sweet fruits of summer with chili peppers.
August 16 - Tomatoes, Tomatoes, Tomatoes. Looking for a few new ways to turn your tomato stockpile into another healthy family favorite? We’ll explore the possibilities.
