Movement on Wiscasset teacher talks
The Wiscasset School Department and its teachers union have a tentative agreement, Superintendent of Schools Heather Wilmot confirmed. Neither the union nor the School Committee has voted, Wilmot said.
“At this point, we are waiting on the draft document. Once it is received, it needs to be reviewed by both parties and voted up,” Wilmot states in email responses to questions May 6.
Attorneys on the department’s behalf are preparing the draft document, Wilmot writes.
The department reached a deal earlier this spring with support staff and both parties voted to pass it. “Our attorneys are still working on finalizing the document. So the document is not signed at this time,” Wilmot writes in one of Friday’s emails.
