King names Kilkelly senior policy adviser
A former resident of Boothbay Harbor and Wiscasset has landed a big job in the senior staff of U.S. Senator-elect Angus King of Maine. Marge Kilkelly, who now lives in Dresden, will be King's senior policy adviser, his office announced December 21.
Kilkelly was the policy adviser on King's Senate campaign. Her new appointment was part of King's first round of hires for his Senate duties. Kilkelly and the others hired so far are a diverse group politically, according to a press release.
“I am pleased to have this talented team joining me as we transition to Washington ...” King said in the release. “These are people who have strong reputations in Maine and who will serve the citizens well.”
Kilkelly grew up in Boothbay Habor, lived in Wicasset for 20 years and currently lives in Dresden at Dragonfly Cove Farm.
King will be sworn in January 3.
