Kids graduate from Secret Agent Academy
Children who participated in the four-week program, “Secret Agent Academy” at Seeds of Knowledge Education Center, earned their diplomas after completing their final mission this week.
Each week of the program highlighted a different element of forensic science or espionage.
Ransom note analysis involved learning about acids and bases and testing different substances. Observation skills included a lesson in making periscopes and using them to spy.
In the session about physical evidence, children learned how to fingerprint and identify loops, arches, and whorls.
Children learned about cryptology through making ciphers and practicing Morse code.
Each week, the mission required children to apply the knowledge and techniques they learned in class to solve a case or mission.
In the end, 24 children passed the test and proudly went home with their Seeds of Knowledge Secret Agent ID cards.
