Recent summons
On December 21, Bruce M. Orne, 18, of Boothbay was issued summonses for Failing to Report Accident by Quickest Means and Illegal Transportation of Liquor by a Minor, on Dover Road, Boothbay, by Deputy Scott Hayden.
Recent accidents
On December 26, an accident occurred on Main Street in Newcastle involving Thomas H. Lyons, 68, of Newcastle and Arthur G. Carey, 39, Palermo. Lyons 2004 Mazda Miata was facing southbound stopped at a stop sign at the end of Mill Road. Carey’s 1998 Dodge pickup was traveling westbound on Business Route 1 heading towards Academy Hill Road. Due to lack of visibility (sun), Lyons did not see Carey’s vehicle and failed to yield right of way and as a result, Lyons struck Carey’s vehicle. Deputy Brian Collamore was the investigating officer.
On December 27, an accident occurred on Bog Road in Dresden involving Kirsten M. Crosson, 19, of Dresden. Crosson was operating her 2005 Subaru Forester westbound when her vehicle left the roadway due to snow covering the road and traveling too fast for the conditions. As a result, her vehicle struck a utility pole and spun counter clockwise coming to rest on the south side of the roadway facing east. Lt. Michael Murphy was the investigating officer.
On December 29, an accident occurred on Wiscasset Road in Boothbay involving Jennifer Long, 26, of Boothbay. Long was operating her 1992 Toyota Camry northbound when her vehicle slid off the snow covered road and into a ditch. Long sustained injuries to her face when the airbag deployed. Deputy Scott Hayden was the investigating officer.
