‘These Shining Lives’ on stage Nov. 3-6
Times passes, elusive and inescapable. We all feel it. For the four young women who went to work in a watch factory in the 1920's painting watch dials with deadly glow-in-the-dark radium, time began to speed up, paused ... and then stood still. The moments in between, are where this story, "These Shining Lives" by Melanie Marnich, reside.
For one weekend only, Nov. 3-6, a hauntingly poignant drama will settle over the Poe Theater, as Heartwood Theater and Lincoln Academy present this story of survival. The unified beauty of script, set, costumes, sound, projections and lighting create a timeless beauty and significance which transcends the years and speaks to all who will hear.
Evening performances at 7:30 are scheduled Thursday, Nov. 3 through Saturday, Nov. 5, with a single 3 p.m. matinee on Sunday, Nov. 6 in the Poe Theater, at Lincoln Academy. Student tickets are $5 and adults are $15. Seating is unreserved, unless specifically requested in advance.
The Poe Theater is located at 81 Academy Hill Road in Newcastle.
