Donald W. Lewis
Donald W. Lewis, 82, died Jan. 23, 2017.
He was born in Boothbay on March 14, 1934, the son of Wendell and Mabel Barter Lewis. He was a 1953 graduate of Boothbay Harbor High School.
A U.S. Marine Corps veteran, Lewis was a retired heavy equipment operator and a life member of the International Union of Operating Engineers. He was also a member of Union Lodge #48 A.F. & A.M. and the Elkton Boumi Temple of Baltimore, Maryland.
Lewis enjoyed watching horse pulls at fairs.
Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Betty Moore Lewis; daughter, Sharon Halsey and her husband Wayne of Elkton, Maryland; brother, Stanley “Swing” Lewis of Boothbay; sister, Jessie Lewis Steeves of Boothbay; sister-in-law, Helen Lewis of Boothbay; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Lewis was predeceased by his parents, son Rob Pendleton, brothers Roland, Alfred, Elmer and Harlan Lewis, and sister Myrtle Pickard.
Services were held at Hicks Funeral Home in Elkton, Maryland. Visitation with a Masonic Lodge service was conducted by Harmony Lodge, Port Deposit, Maryland. Interment was held with military honors at Bethel Cemetery in Chesapeake City, Maryland.
