Sheriff's report
Sheriff Todd Brackett reports the following:
On January 14, Reserve Deputy Richard Woodward was dispatched to a report of a burglary of a 42-inch Samsung flat screen television (value: $800) from a summer residence on Southport Island. The complainant stated that sometime within the past three months, someone(s) stole the television. Further investigation to follow.

Recent Traffic Accidents
On January 10, an accident occurred on Hendricks Hill Road in Southport involving Lyda K. Zalucky, 23, of Southport. Zalucky was operating her 2001 Mitsubishi Montero northbound and due to black ice, she lost control of her vehicle and skidded off on the left side of the road and struck a tree. Deputy Brian Collamore was the investigating officer.
On January 10, an accident occurred on Ferry Road on Westport Island involving Daryl L. Grant, 66, of Westport Island and Elizabeth L. Monfort, 88, of Westport Island. Grant, who was operating his 2009 Ford Escape, was attempting to make a left turn from Ferry Road onto Main Road and due to a partial obstruction (trees), he did not see Monfort’s 2002 Mercedes-Benz. As a result, Grant pulled out into the path of Monfort and struck her vehicle on the passenger side. Monfort’s vehicle then crossed the center line and went off the left side of the roadway and struck a post. Deputy Brian Collamore was the investigating officer.
On January 13, an accident occurred on Bog Road in Dresden involving Megan H. Libby, 27, of Newcastle. Libby was operating her 2005 Ford Escape northbound when she lost control of her vehicle in the icy roadway. This caused her vehicle to cross over the southbound lane and leave the roadway. Her vehicle then encountered a snow bank and caused it to roll over onto its roof. Deputy Matthew Day was the investigating officer.
On January 14, an accident occurred on Rabbit Path Road in Alna involving Shawn W. Larrabee, 51, of Topsham. Larrabee was operating a 1994 Ford L8000 truck, which was substantially loaded with kerosene/heating oil, northbound on Rabbit Path Road approaching the Alna Road. Larrabee appeared to be traveling too fast to stop on the incline. Larrabee advised he was not going to be able to stop for the stop sign, so he drove the vehicle into the ditch, where it rolled onto its side. Deputy Scott Hayden was the investigating officer.
