Pemaquid Chapter DAR prepares for 85th year celebration

The June Chapter meeting was devoted to planning a celebration of the Chapter's 85th year this November. Barbara Belknap gave a talk on the life of Edward Arlington Robinson, one of Maine's poets, and showed pictures of his house in Head Tide where the first organizing meeting of the Chapter was held 85 years ago. The current owners of the home are going to host the Chapter's November meeting in celebration of this event.
Clara Wentworth, Conservation Committee chair, brought marigolds for all meeting attendees. Marigolds are one of the most commonly planted annuals in the world. They stay in bloom all summer. They attract bees. The Conservation Committee has made helping to save the bees this year's project.
