Carolyn Gabbe art show at Midcoast Conservancy
Carolyn Gabbe’s exhibit of nearly 30 paintings at Midcoast Conservancy is part of the Wiscasset Art Walk on Thursday, Aug. 31 in the historic Haggett Building on Water Street in Wiscasset.
The show, “Home Is Where The Heart Is,” running from Aug. 10-31, consists of a series of contemporary representational paintings drawn mostly from Gabbe’s life in Maine.
Fine art was something Gabbe always dreamed of, but never expected to actually be doing. Ten years ago, she purchased her first painting supplies locally at Salt Bay Art Supply and was smitten. After a career in business and the independent sector, she is now a graduate of the internationally recognized Studio Incamminati founded by Nelson and Leona Shanks in Philadelphia and paints full time in her studio in Nobleboro. She is a member of Oil Painters of America, American Women Artists, and the Portrait Society of America. Her work may also be found locally at Gleason Fine Art in Boothbay Harbor.
The exhibition is on view weekdays 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., and by appointment by contacting Carolyn at carolyngabbeart@gmail.com. The Wiscasset Art Walk reception will be held from 5-8 p.m.
