‘Scrooge the Musical’ at the Chocolate Church
In 1970, renowned writer-composer-lyricist Leslie Bricusse adapted the classic Charles Dickens tale, “A Christmas Carol,” into the hit screen musical "Scrooge!" The Chocolate Church Arts Center production, directed by Wayne Otto, opens Dec. 14 for one weekend.
Like the film, the musical closely follows the plot of Charles Dickens' “A Christmas Carol,” in which the miserly Ebenezer Scrooge undergoes a profound experience of redemption over the course of a Christmas Eve night.
After being visited by the ghost of his former partner Jacob Marley, and the ghosts of Christmas past, present and future.
Show dates: Thursday, Dec. 14, Friday, Dec. 15 and Saturday, Dec. 16 at 7:30; two matinees at 2 p.m. on Dec. 16 and Sunday, Dec. 17.
