Administrative changes announced in Woolwich
Woolwich will begin advertising for a new town administrator in the first part of 2018.
The select board accepted the resignation of Suzette Cloutier of Topsham effective Dec. 7. Cloutier served as town administrator since July having been promoted from tax collector, a position she held for a year.
Select Board Chairman David King Sr. said former town administrator Lynette Eastman has agreed to return to the position until it is filled. Eastman, of Pittston, retired in June after 10 years in the job.
King said Cloutier resigned verbally to the selectmen adding they had accepted her resignation “with regret” in a unanimous vote following an executive session.
“Lynnette agreed to come back and fill in ... on a part-time basis,” he said. Eastman would be at the town office Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.
King also announced the recent hiring of Chelsea Lane of Bath as town clerk. Lane replaces Mary Howe of Brunswick who became town clerk in August following the retirement of Janice Bradford. Howe recently resigned, he said.
