On Friday, Dec. 8, nine-year-old Madison Lorrain found out her wish will be granted. She is going on an all-expenses paid trip to Disney World with her family thanks to Make-A-Wish Maine.

Madison wished for a trip to Disney because she wanted to bring her family on a trip. She will be joined by her parents, Kristin and Steve, and her uncle and godfather, Kevin.

She is most excited for all of the rides at Disney and is a fan of mermaids.

Madison was diagnosed with cancer in March of 2017 and received care through the Maine Children’s Cancer Program (MCCP), a pediatric oncology program of The Barbara Bush Children’s Hospital at Maine Medical Center. Her last treatment was in September and she is now cancer free.

LincolnHealth, a member of MaineHealth, where Madison’s mother works, would like to wish the Lorrain family a wonderful trip.

Make-A-Wish grants the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength and joy. As one of 61 chapters across the U.S., Make-A-Wish Maine has been granting wishes for local children with life-threatening medical conditions since 1992. Founded by Wayne and Caroline Morong in Camden, Make-A-Wish Maine has grown to serve children in each of Maine's 16 counties, and grants an average of one wish every five days.
