Charles Scott “Chuck” Sherman, 73, died Dec. 13, 2017 at his home in Rockwell, North Carolina.

He was born in Portland, Maine Aug. 12, 1944 to Charles W.C. Sherman and Olive Stahl  Sherman (Baker). He grew up in Damariscotta and attended  Castner Grammar School and Lincoln Academy.

After serving in the U.S. Navy, he worked and lived in Jacksonville, Florida. Later he moved to North Carolina where he worked and retired from Unifirst.

He was predeceased by his parents, stepson Troy Hunsuck, half-brother Peter Sherman, aunt Frances Nason, and brother-in-law Shannon Gilbert.

Chuck is survived by his wife of 34 years, Cora Diane Klutz Sherman of Rockwell North Carolina; sons, Charles Scott Sherman Jr. and Mike Sherman; daughter, Candy Sherman Baylor and grandchildren of Jacksonville, Florida; sister, Dawn Sherman Gilbert of Boothbay; brother, Robert Sherman and wife Julie of Bowdoinham; and nieces and nephews.

A memorial service was held at Salisbury National Cemetery in North Carolina. Donations maybe made to the American Lung Association.
