The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office responded to 313 calls for service for the period of Jan. 21 to Jan. 28. Year to date, LCSO has responded to 1,177 calls for service.
Summons
Michael C. Young, 55, of Waldoboro was issued a summons Jan. 22 for Operating while License is Suspended or Revoked, on Split Rock Road, Bristol, by Deputy Caleb Poirier.
Arrests
Paul A. Heino, 49, of Rockland was arrested Jan. 21 on two Knox County warrants for Unlawful Possession of Scheduled Drugs and Violating Condition of Release, at Two Bridges Regional Jail, Wiscasset, by Deputy Joseph Booth.
Randall H. Waltz, 61, of Damariscotta was arrested Jan. 22 for Operating under the Influence – No Test, 1 prior – on Main Street, Damariscotta, by Deputy Jerold Winslow.
Jhovany Castillo, 38, of Boothbay was arrested Jan. 25 for Operating under the Influence, on River Road, Boothbay, by Deputy Nathan Yeaton.
Accidents
On Jan. 21, an accident occurred on Austin Road in Newcastle involving Richard L. Turner, 60, of Thomaston. Mr. Turner was operating a 2001 Peterbuilt commercial truck, loaded with a roll off dumpster (full of trash) eastbound on Pond Road. As he came down over a hill, onto Austin Road, he appeared to have suffered some type of medical event. As a result, his vehicle went off the roadway on the left and struck a large tree in a yard on Austin Road. Sgt. Scott Hayden was the investigating officer.
On Jan. 21, an accident occurred on Route 1 in Newcastle involving Troy A. Scott, 57, of Rockport. Mr. Scott was operating his 2012 Toyota Highlander northbound when a deer entered the roadway and collided with his vehicle. Deputy Jerold Winslow was the investigating officer.
On Jan. 23, an accident occurred on River Road in Edgecomb involving Peter H. Duley, 45, of Westport. Mr. Duley was operating his 2022 Ford F-350 southbound and a silver/white ¾ ton pickup was operating northbound, when the northbound vehicle struck and broke his side mirror. The other vehicle did not stop and was not located. Deputy Joseph Booth was the investigating officer.
On Jan. 25, an accident occurred on Alna Road in Alna involving Charlize Smith, 22, of Nobleboro. Ms. Smith was operating her 2024 Toyota Sienna eastbound when she failed to stop at the stop sign at the bottom of a hill. As a result, her vehicle crossed Rt. 218 and went down into a ditch and collided into a tree, sustaining disabling damage. Deputy Caleb Poirier was the investigating officer.
