‘About Boating Safely’ at adult ed
The U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary is offering a four-session introduction to boating at Boothbay Region Adult Ed on April 27, 27, May 2 and 4. Topics include the types of boats, trailering, required safety equipment, legal requirements, navigating waterways, safe operation, boating emergencies, and water sports. The course is approved by the National Association of State Boating Law Administrators. Successful completion of an optional exam at the end of the class leads to a certificate to show you have taken a boating course. This certificate is required to operate a boat in most states and Canada. Many insurance companies offer discounts if you have a certificate. The time is 6 to 8 p.m. in Room 104 at Boothbay Region High School and the fee is $70. Please register by Friday, April 21.
