ArtWalk artist Kim Hetherington at Lincoln Home
The public is invited to enjoy an evening of art with Kim Hetherington, special guest artist from Bremen and Washington, D.C. An exhibit of her pastels and oil paintings will be displayed in our living room during the Twin Villages ArtWalk, Friday, June 16, Friday, 4-7 p.m. Sample delicious hors d’oeuvres, meet Kim, and take home a painting! A portion of sales benefits our Residents’ Assistance Fund.
Kim’s art focuses on still life and portraiture. "The fact that I lead a rather peripatetic life encourages me to favor still life painting above other forms: I can always find something in the refrigerator to set up as a subject in my studio,” she said. “On the other hand, time permitting, I find nothing more challenging than the human face and figure. Still life, face, figure: each becomes an exercise in depicting singular forms on the canvas — still lifes and stilled lives.”
Represented in galleries and in one-woman, juried and non-juried group shows, she continually takes classes with nationally-ranked artists. From each of these masters she has gleaned valuable lessons which she has applied to her own impressionistic, color-laden style.
