The Friends of the Wiscasset Public Library will once again host the annual Bands for Books on Labor Day at Lakehurst Lodge in Damariscotta. The Salty Dogs have confirmed that they will be performing and will have people up and dancing throughout the event.

Our loyal guests know that each year we strive to make Bands for Books better than the previous year. Bands for Books 2023 was a wonderful year, and we realized our highest profit. We are thankful for our volunteers, our guests and our sponsors who made this possible.

All monies received will be used to support our Library. Last year, we were able to provide the Library with funds for operating expenses, the Summer Reading Program, Adult Programs, Young Adult Programs, and the Inter-Library Loan System. We also provided a new countertop for the circulation desk and for unexpected and necessary repairs to our beautiful and historic building. In total last year, our fundraising efforts provided in excess of $16,000 to our library!  We were able to do all this as a result of your generosity.
