Barry W. Snow
Barry William Snow, age 61, formerly of Cranston, Rhode Island, passed away in the morning hours of Sept. 13, 2024 after a long illness with Huntington's disease.
He was born to parents Virginia Miller Abbott and Everett "Red" Snow on Oct. 8, 1962 in Warwick RI and was a graduate of Cranston West High School 1980. He went on to serve 4 years in the Air Force and then spent a few years working on Dye 4 in Greenland. After Greenland he went to work for Siemans Medical Systems for 20 years and has since then had jobs working in the nuclear medical field.
He was predeceased by his parents, and a brother Randy Snow. He is survived by his wife Dianne Barter Snow and 3 stepsons Garreth Burnham of Edgcomb, and Kevin and Brian Westmoreland of North Carolina as well as aunts, an uncle, cousins and friends that will all miss him very much.
Barry was a go-getter and daredevil from day one. He spent a couple of years at Hawk Mountain Ranger School in the mountains of Pennsylvania when he was young and became the youngest person in RI to get their pilots license at 17. He was a black belt in Kenpo karate and started G Force Kenpo Karate School in Sanford, NC, which he ran until he moved to Maine. He loved parachuting, white water rafting, and also loved to hunt and fish and often took fishing trips with his good friend Jody Hodgdon of Wiscassett.
There will be no services but a small celebration of life will be planned later on. "My mind still talks to you, my heart still looks for you, but my soul knows that you are finally at peace. Rest in peace my love and I will see you on the other side."
