BRES flood relief donations sought
The Boothbay Region Education Foundation account has been set up at The First National Bank in Boothbay Harbor for those who wish to help the community-wide efforts to toward replacing educational tools and supplies lost in the recent flooding at Boothbay Region Elementary School. Bank Manager Brenda Blackman said a donations box is set up inside the bank, and an account for monetary donations is ready to go.
“All they need to do is come to the bank and we will deposit the donation,” said Blackman. “Or, they can go online (www.educationboothbay.org/donate) and donate through Pay Pal.”
Supply donations may be dropped off in the bin at The First National Bank, 77 Oak St. Monday through Thursday 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Friday 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Or mail a donation, check payable to The Boothbay Region Education Foundation, to: Education Boothbay, 51 Emery Lane, Boothbay Harbor, ME 04538.

According to its website, Education Boothbay a group of local educators, supports innovative tools and resources beyond what may be available through school budgets. Education Boothbay partners with teachers to help public school students in the Boothbay region learn the skills necessary for success in college and careers. Education Boothbay has funded over $200,000 for tools and resources to support science, technology, engineering, art and math programs. Education Boothbay’s board consists of volunteers dedicated to enhancing the educational opportunities for students at Boothbay Region Elementary and High schools, Southport Central School and Edgecomb Eddy School.
