Briana Goud is DAR Award recipient
Briana Goud, daughter of Duane and Patricia Goud of Wiscasset, has been named DAR representative for the Wiscasset High School Class of 2014.
Briana is a leader who inspires her peers to do their very best. She is currently president of WHS National Honor Society, president of the Class of 2014, and vice president of the WHS Student Council. Her leadership extends onto the athletic court and fields of WHS as a member of the basketball, soccer and softball teams. Briana attended Dirigo Girls State and received the Wellesley College Book Award at the end of her junior year. She is an outstanding student with a strong commitment to friends, school and community.
The Pemaquid Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution sponsors Briana for this honor. The selection process requires a faculty vote. Three seniors who best exemplify outstanding qualities of leadership, dependability, service and patriotism in school, home and community are chosen. The senior class then selects one of the three to represent the school. This is not a scholastic award, rather, it is an award presented for outstanding character and achievement, and the selection is based on the same.
