Cast announced for ‘Tanglin Hearts’
The Waldo Theatre has announced that it has completed casting for its autumn stage production of “Tanglin’ Hearts,” a country-western musical.
The cast for this rollicking comedy with toe-tappin' country music will include Nick Azzaretti of Newcastle, Roosevelt Bishop of Edgecomb, Soren Barker and Skip Simonds of Boothbay, Honora Boothby of Bremen, and Katie Fearn, Carole Florman, Cameron Kinney, Niall Lessard and Mallory Smith-Adams of Damariscotta.
“The amount of talent in our Midcoast area is truly amazing,” said Lynna Henderson, “Tanglin’ Hearts” director and resident of Tenants Harbor. “We had dozens of actors sing and read for our casting committee, and it was really tough to hone that down to a 10-member cast ... but we did! Best of all, in true ‘Waldo’ fashion, the cast includes both well-recognized local stage talent, and a first-time actor's stage debut.”
“I am over the moon about our cast,” said Zora Margolis, playwright and Edgecomb resident. “We are so fortunate to have a wealth of talented actors and singers in our Midcoast community, and every one in our cast is among the best of our best. This show, needless to say, is very near and dear to my heart, and I am so looking forward to seeing these wonderful performers bring it to life at The Waldo.”
“Tanglin’ Hearts” is being co-produced at The Waldo by George Bates of Waldoboro and Ms. Margolis, with musical direction by Guy Scott of Boothbay and choreography by Niall Lessard. The play is scheduled to run at The Waldo over the last weekend of September and first weekend of October.
