Cory A. Barter
Cory Alan Barter, 38, died November 12, 2015 in Whitefield from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
He was born September 19, 1977 in Boothbay Harbor to Ernest and Eileen Brewer Barter. Cory grew up in Nobleboro and attended local schools. His family moved back to Boothbay and he graduated from Boothbay Regional High School in the class of 1996.
Cory began cooking and was a waiter at the former C & B Marina in East Boothbay. He worked at several restaurants including, No Anchovies, China By The Sea in Boothbay Harbor and Le Garage in Wiscasset. He also worked at St. Andrews Hospital and Village. Cory took great pride in his work and always brought a smile to his customers and co-workers.
Cory was a generous, loving, caring and selfless person who began helping elderly neighbors when he was young. He always thought of others and was willing to help the elderly, kids or animals. Family was very important to Cory and he always enjoyed making his family laugh on all their gatherings and camping trips. He would often sing old show tunes that made everyone laugh. His other passion was animals. He rescued many animals over the years that he would bring home. He had a heart of gold and will be missed dearly by his family and friends.
He was predeceased by his grandparents, Edwin and Lorraine Brewer, Florence Emerson Barter and Warren Barter; and aunts, Linda Barter and Bernadette Osgood.
He is survived by his wife, Christina Lorrain Barter of Wiscasset; parents, Ernest and Eileen Barter of Whitefield; brothers, Brian Barter and his fiancé Jeannie of Walpole, Brent Barter and his wife Elizabeth of Edgecomb; sister, Michele Barter Andreasen and her husband Gregory of Muscat, Oman; several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
Friends are welcome to join the family for a time of visitation from 5 to 7 p.m. November 18at Hall’s of Boothbay, 975 Wiscasset Road, Boothbay. A service to celebrate Cory’s life will be held 1 p.m. November 19at Hall’s of Boothbay. Al Roberts will officiate. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery in Boothbay. Should friends desire, contributions in Cory’s memory may be made to the Lincoln County Animal Shelter, P.O. Box 7, Edgecomb, ME 04556.
