Wiscasset area crews respond to Richmond house fire
Jan. 28 at about 1:59 p.m., Sagadahoc County Communications received a call for a house fire in the area of 450 Main St. in Richmond. Richmond Fire Department arrived on scene within minutes of being dispatched with flames and smoke coming from multiple sides of the home.
Fire and rescue departments and personnel from Richmond, Bowdoinham, Bowdoin, Woolwich, Topsham, Litchfield, Dresden, Gardiner and Wiscasset, along with Richmond Police, Sagadahoc County Sheriff’s Office, Maine State Police, State of Maine Fire Marshal’s Office, Richmond Public Works, Bath-Brunswick Salvation Army, American Red Cross and Sagadahoc County EMA responded to the scene.
Crews quickly worked to contain the fire to the single-family home. Crews were paged back there around 4 a.m. the morning of Jan. 29 as the fire had rekindled. Richmond Fire and Rescue Department quickly responded and extinguished the fire within 20 minutes of arriving on scene.
At this time, the cause of the fire is still under investigation. A male juvenile was taken to the hospital with minor injuries from the fire.
