CTL faculty, parents, and students build a new Gaga Ball Pit
Two years ago, students at Center for Teaching and Learning (CTL) in Edgecomb generated a few ideas about how to develop new spaces for creativity, collaboration, physical activity, and fun during recess. This fall, one of their ideas came to fruition: a brand new Gaga Ball Pit!
Last weekend, faculty, parents, and students came together to construct the pit. And everyday since, students in kindergarten through eighth grade have come together to enjoy this exciting new game at recess.
CTL is grateful to Glenn Powers, middle school science and physical education teacher, for coordinating build day, and to parent volunteers Ross Branch, Andy Hollon, Makoto Sato, Nick Kutch, Carl Wilson, Steve Feder, and Roosevelt Bishop for help with pit construction. CTL would also like to thank Hammond Lumber Company in Boothbay Harbor for generously donating lumber for this project.
