Debra Arter exhibition at The First, N.A. bank
Damariscotta artist Debra Arter's paintings, prints and collages is on display in the lobby of The First, N.A. Bank in Boothbay Harbor through the end of September. The artwork presented has Maine and its many seasons, nuances and character as a common thread.
She received her MFA in visual arts from Vermont College of Fine Arts and has been a printmaker for over 20 years. Her artwork has been featured on eight holiday cards for the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, and is included in the collection of the Boston Public Library.
Arter teaches printmaking in Damariscotta and painting at various adult education centers.
Her love of color, layering, nature and controlled "accidents" is evident in this one person show.
A longstanding member of the Boothbay Region Art Foundation, Arter has another connection to the Boothbay region: she is a member of the aquatic staff at the YMCA.
The First bank is located at 88 Oak Street in Boothbay Harbor. Viewing is possible Monday through Thursday 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. and until 5 on Friday. Saturday hours are 8 a.m. to noon.
